Like a traveler's landmark where each element tells its own story, Babel creates a unique ensemble where languages, cuisines, cultures, and stories blend. Imbued with maritime tales and distant travels, Babel tells of elsewhere while being anchored in the city. The Rooms
The 71 rooms, crafted by Chloé Nègre, are built over time, like in the course of travels, materials, and encounters. They evoke the stopovers of a traveler returned from northern ports, right in the center of Lille — spice colors and raw linen, deep velvets, patinated brass, antique tiles, wood, and faience.
Each of these rooms tells its own story, like a contemporary cabinet of curiosities revealing its features and details while infusing this generous aesthetic characterizing BABEL where antique objects and custom creations blend. A silent and inspiring space where the body slows down, in the calm and softness of a stopover at the end of the world…
The bar, the beating heart of our 4-star hotel
BABEL is above all a place for life, open to the neighborhood and the world. In this urban inn, the bar serves as a meeting point.
Large wooden tables, comfortable benches, drinks inspired by the spice route, it's a place to discover and toast to the sounds of BABEL radio. The short and committed menu highlights local producers and artisans: beers from the Brasserie Cambier, Saint Bernardus and the Vaucelles Abbey, short-circuit coffees from MUDA, homemade revisited sweets.
And to complete the journey, BABEL will regularly host exhibitions, meetings, and artist residencies in partnership with Le Fresnoy and the World Attacafa cultural center.
